Building committee update, May 2015

Dear parishioners,

We are very happy to inform you that we have submitted the “Town Plan Application” of Alphonsa Nagar with the Hume City Council with its master plan and all other associated reports from various consultants.  As you know, the application has been prepared through a number of professionals who have worked relentlessly for a long period of time.

God’s mighty providence has always been evident ever since the acquisition of the Mickleham property first with the announcement of the new Syro-Malabar Diocese in Melbourne and then through the preparations for a development of the master plan for the Alphonsa Nagar site intended to cater to the pastoral needs of our faithful in Australia especially those in the North and West regions of Melbourne and to the administrative needs of our diocese.

As you know, the Council will take sometime to study the application. They may come back to us seeking more clarification on what we have proposed or may propose certain amendments or may choose to put a public notice regarding the proposal and write to our neighbours who are sharing boundary with our property for their opinion.

In this context, it is a matter of great importance that we all pray for the officials of the Council so that they may decide positively on our application, for our neighbours so that they may stand in favour of our project and for ourselves so that we may move forward more united for the realization of our dream.

It is similarly important that we accelerate our endeavours for the fund raising while the Council studies and finalises our proposal. A determined state of financial capacity is necessary for initiating the process of loan application for our project.
